In 2025, Slovenia will introduce significant legal changes that will impact accessibility for people with disabilities. Key regulations, Equalisation of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act (ZIMI) and Accessibility of Products and Services for Disabled Persons Act (ZDPSI), will require adjustments in various sectors, including construction and informational services.

The Accessibility of Products and Services for Disabled Persons Act, which takes effect on June 28, 2025, mandates that various products and services, including computer equipment, ATMs, websites, mobile apps, and e-commerce services, be made accessible. The law also focuses on the accessibility of transportation, including air, bus, and sea travel, mandating that websites, mobile apps, electronic tickets, and interactive self-service terminals must be accessible.

Under Equalisation of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act, a similar deadline (December 11, 2025) is set for removing physical and communication barriers at railway stations and on trains, including tasks such as eliminating height differences, widening paths, and improving access to trains.

These changes are essential to fostering greater inclusion of people with disabilities in society and ensuring equal access to public transport and services, as well as easier access to public buildings.
