The deadline for adapting publicly used buildings to ensure access to services expired on 11 December 2025. The owners of the buildings are responsible for implementing the adaptations, while compliance is monitored by the Natural Resources and Spatial Planning Inspectorate.
The National Advisory and Information Point has been established to provide information and raise awareness, offering free professional assistance and guidance for implementing the necessary adaptations. It provides, all in one place:
- comprehensive information and materials on accessibility and design for universally accessible public space,
-
assistance and advice on all aspects of making public buildings accessible to people with disabilities,
- information and clarification on the legal obligations to ensure accessibility of public buildings.
The point was established in 2024 at the Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities.
This year, the point will also develop a public facility accessibility self-assessment form, which will allow you to assess how accessible your facility is and what interventions are still needed to ensure that it meets the requirements by 11.12.2025 at the latest.
